If your anything like me, you would kill to have that summer vacation tan all year round, especially in summer. I can't stand thinking of paying that $65 price tag every week to get that glow. Yeah I could tan, but I'm all about protecting my skin and preserving my age for as long as possible. This month I tested about four different self tanners from the drug store, and one came out on top. The L'oreal Sublime Bronze (http://www.lorealparisusa.com/en/products/skin-care/products/self-tanning/sublime-bronze-luminous-bronzer.aspx) is the best I have run across that is budget friendly. There are a couple steps you can take in ensuring a streak free application!
First I always start with an heavy exfoliator, pin pointing your dry areas. For me, my dry areas are my knees, elbows, and the back of my ankles. I use the Coffee Body Polish from MadeMen&Co (http://www.mademen.us/shop/coffee-body-polish/). After showering I assure the skin is completely dry. Then apply product in a circular motion starting at your shoulders and working your way down. Some don't prefer to apply self tanner to the face, but I find if you apply in the right way it can look very natural. By taking the product and starting in the middle of the face making your way to the edges. If you think about how the natural sun hits your skin, your nose and center face get sun first. When I am done applying the product I like to take a small amount of body butter to my dry areas. I find by adding that extra bit of moisture it helps to prevent any product clingy to unwanted areas.
So, take take the plunge and try at home self tanning and use that extra money you save on a real vacation!
I teamed up with Double J again but with the sister company, Vestige Jewelry! This whole jewelry line is handmade with leathers, semi precious stones, and unique pieces you wouldn't think to add to jewelry. The best part of this whole line is the capability to mix and match without even thinking. No fuss, and over thinking. That's my kind of line.
This pretty little number featured in this shoot is up for grabs! Click on over to the Double J Saddlery Instagram, follow Vestige by Double J, and comment tagging two of you friends who would love to win this beauty! Winner will be announced over on Double J Saddlery Instagram on Monday, July 18th! Good luck!
The amount of love I felt the day of my Bridal Shower was so overwhelming I had no clue how to express the gratitude I had towards everyone who attended. I think that's maybe why it took me so long to write this post. I wanted to be able to explain my thought process of the day and I think I'm finally there.
My sister-in-law and my mother hosted the Bridal Shower at my mothers house at 5 o'clock in the evening. How we came up with a Moroccan theme is beyond me. I hate being responsible for hosting and entertaining an event or party. So I think my thought process behind it was let get everyone involved and interacting with everyone so I'm not responsible in making sure everyone is having a good time. I also hate the thought of a basic bridal shower with finger foods and roses. Where everyone comes and watches you open gifts while they count down the gifts to when they can leave. I wanted people to enjoy the party as much as I did, and I think my mother and sister-in-law pulled it off seamlessly. We had belly dancers come and preform and got all my girls up and dancing. The best part of the evening was when al my girls were circles around me and praising positive vibes. I could literally feel the love exuding from everyone. That was probably the most overwhelming moment of the whole shower.
We also had a Henna Artist there creating magic. I've always had an obsession with Henna Art from the moment I attended Scarborough Fair as a child. I loved the pre-wedding ceremony that the Indian Culture has, and I took that and interpreted it into my wedding. My Henna Artist did the most detailed henna on my hands free hand.
I like to think everyone had a wonderful time while not being bored out of there minds. I myself, had the most perfect Bridal Shower of my dreams. Thank you to each and everyone of you who attended and showed me such love and happiness. I love each and everyone of you.
